Go to www.usps.com to order supplies and print the shipping label from your computer. You can also go to your local Post Office and pick up a Free shipping box/boxes .... prepare your package and pay the postage at the Post Office.
Shipping Starters & Hydraulic Pumps to us; The Priority Mail Medium Flat Rate Box-O-FRB1 measures 11" X 8.5" X 5.5". This box works very well 99.9 % of the time for most all starters. Can be used for Domestic Priority Mail ($10.35) and International Priority Mail ($25.95 to Canada and Mexico- $41.95 to all other countries, 20 lb weight limit applies).
The next size larger box is the Priority Mail Large Flat Rate Box measures 12? x 12? x 5 1/2?. Can be used for Domestic Priority Mail ($13.95) and International Priority Mail ($32.95 to Canada and Mexico; $53.95 to all other countries, 20 lb weight limit applies)
Tips; Place the starter / Hydraulic pump in a plastic trash bag to help ensure that if any oil is on the starter/pump, it will not bleed through the box. Then use old news papers to pack around the starter in the box. One simple test to see if you have enough packing is to close the box lids and shake the box. If you feel the starter moving you need to add more packing. If it moves around in the box during transport/shipping you have good odds it will tear out of the box before it gets here. Once you have it packed tight put several layer of clear tape around the box for support. Now you can put the package at your mail box or drop it off a your local Post Office.
