254 & 354 Ingition Switch
The pictures shown below are of the Factory Ignition Switch & the Factory Replacement Switch. Picture #1 shows the numbers beside each terminal that ID's what each terminal does when key is moved to each position.
Terminal #1;Key position OFF. Battery Voltage at all times. Key on or off. Terminal #2; Key position ON. Battery Voltage when key is turned to ON. Terminal #3; Key position H. Battery Voltage to glow plugs when key is held in H position (spring loaded). Terminal #4; Key position ST. Sends battery voltage to small terminal on starter solenoid to make starter motor run.
Pictures #2 & #3 shows two different wiring harnesses going to the switch. There may be others?
